For those short on money and time, it doesn't mean the occasional indulgence is out of the question. Here are high quality, affordable things to try.

Though today’s economy may be uncertain, and purse strings are pulling tighter than ever before, there are still many people who want to enjoy the occasional indulgence. With career and home responsibilities, and pressures from society, life can get very hectic. Why take away the small pleasures that allow one to escape the madness? Fortunately, there are still ways to get pampered without shelling out tons of dollars. Here are a few high quality, affordable pampering products and services.

ShoeDazzle

Who knew it was possible to get personal shopping service for less than forty bucks a month? ShoeDazzle is the brainchild of celebrity stylist and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian. It is a novel concept: for a small fee of $39 per month, a group of fashion stylists picks out ultra-cute shoes for each subscriber, based on a fashion survey they take. The shoes are very trendy, and the price is just right. There are no contracts to sign, and if a subscriber happens not to like the choices presented one month, they can opt to skip paying until the following month, or request different choices. ShoeDazzle members are never charged until they actually chose a pair. This is the ultimate service for women that love shoes and fashion, but don’t have the time of day to shop. Best of all- subscribers get to keep the shoes, and shipping is free.

Sucré

Sucré is a pastry and confections shop based in New Orleans, Louisiana that has earned rave reviews from the likes of Paula Deen and Oprah Winfrey. Their macaroon cookies are to-die-for, and the chocolates and pate de fruit are unlike any most have ever tasted. For those who don't live in New Orleans, it’s not a problem since Sucré’s treats can be ordered online. Prices for Sucré’s chocolates and macaroons start at just $12. For the ultimate indulgence, go for the chocolate-covered macaroons topped with gold leaf- they’re only $16 for a box of eight. Since it is best to enjoy sweets in moderation anyway, an occasional purchase from Sucré makes for a delicious pick-me-up.

DemandSports

Working out is not only good for the body, it helps the spirit- when people look good, they feel better about themselves. Even those new to fitness soon discover that after exercising, they feel happier and refreshed. The problem: gym equipment can be quite expensive, and it’s not convenient to have to travel to a commercial gym.

The solution: DemandSports, an online library of fitness workouts ranging from cardio kickboxing to salsa lessons. There are no contracts, no need to buy expensive equipment, and no need to step foot outside the house. Memberships are as cheap as $1 (yes- just one dollar) for two full days of access, and go up to $59.99 for six months of access. DemandSports also gives their members helpful fitness articles, as well as tips to keep them motivated. For those short on time and money who want to look and feel better, DemandSports is a must-try.

Whether someone takes pleasure in fashion, food, or fitness, there is an affordable way to be pampered. These three options are only a sampling of the many products and services available. When looking for inexpensive ways to indulge, keep not only value, but quality and service in mind.
