Arby's is a fast food restaurant that specializes in thinly-sliced roast beef sandwiches. The restaurant chain began in Boardman, Ohio in 1964, by brothers Forrest and Leroy Raffel, who wanted to offer something to the public other than hamburgers. The name Arby's is said to have come from the initials R.B., and have been rumored to stand for either Raffel Brothers or Roast Beef.

A great place to find savings is the Arby's Extras club. Membership promises to be rewarded with members-only coupons and special offers. The sign-up form requires a name, email address, date of birth and zip code. Additionally, if a cell phone number is given, promotional alerts will arrive by text.
In September, 2009, Arby's began a promotion for five regular roast beef sandwiches for $5.00. Additionally, with that purchase, an order of curly fries and a small drink are $1.00 each.
Take a Survey and Get a Free Sandwich
With every order placed at Arby's, a register receipt is printed that has directions, on the back, to take a survey. Visit the survey site and complete the form. Participation requires the code for the particular restaurant that was visited, which is found directly under the Arby's name on the receipt. Then answer the quick questions, which inquire about the service and the food quality.
At the end of the survey, a code will appear. Write the code on the blank line on the back of the receipt. A choice of a free Beef ‘n Cheddar or regular roast beef sandwich is the reward, when you surrender the coded receipt. A survey, and resulting free sandwich, is allowed monthly per each separate restaurant, so visit different locations to acquire more freebies.

Summertime Promotion and Freebies
Arby's provided a summer-long promotion, with freebies each Wednesday, that ended on August 26, 2009. Look for the popular give-away to return possibly in the summer. The franchise gave away free sandwiches when a drink was purchased, or a free orange shake or flavored ice tea with the purchase of a sandwich. When the promotion began, restaurant managers and servers painted their faces and created a party atmosphere for the restaurant crowds.
