How To Save $50 A Month Five Easy WaysEat Well And Have Fun While Saving Your Hard-Earned Bucks
Look at saving money as a adventure, and surprise yourself with how resourceful you can be.
When it comes to saving money, think outside of the box; you can have a great time, strengthen your bonds with friends and family and in some cases, stumble upon ways to bring home some extra cash with the following suggestions. 1. Prepare Your Gourment Coffee or Tea at HomeThis is the easiest way to put cash back in your pocket. You may be spending an average of $4.50-$6.00 daily for a hot beverage. In only 10 days, that is $45 - $60. Dress up your breakfast area so it is appealing. There are so many gourmet coffees in the supermarket that you can buy. With the extra money you are saving, buy those little extras like flavored syrups, creamers and spices like cocoa powder and cinnamon to put in your coffee. Heat up your milk or cream in a little pan to make it "foamy" and voila!, you have your expensive hot drink. Put some in a thermos and bring it to work with you and save even more money. 2. Have Potluck Dinners with Your Friends More OftenInstead of spending $25 - $35 everytime you go out to eat with friends, meet at someone's home and bring food. Three people can provide and entree, sides and dessert or appetizers for $5 - $6 apiece. You'll have better time because you can make all the noise you want and you'll probably have food leftovers to take home. After doing this three times a month, you'll save about $50 - $60. 3. Have Ice Cream Nights at HomeGoing out for ice cream for a family of four can add up to $20 - $30 with ice cream servings going for $4 - $5.50 apiece. For that same amount of money you can buy two gallons of premium ice cream, chocolate syrup and bananas and have more to enjoy for a few more nights. 4. Use Your Library for EntertainmentYour local library is a great source for not only books but videotapes, DVDs, free seminars and workshops. Instead of spending money on a movie, rent a tape or DVD for free. You might have a skill that you would like to share with your community, like cooking, knitting, fitness tips, scrapbook making and origami (the Japanese art of paper folding) to name a few. Ask for the Program Director and see if they would be interested in having you speak and/or demonstrate your skills(s). Sometimes, some libraries have put away money to compensate their speakers. This is called an "honorarium", but you need to ask if there is one available. So not only can you spend an interesting evening engaging with your community, you might be able to actually bring home cash! 5. Think More than Twice Before Buying Clothes, Electronic Equipment and Other "Uneedables"Ask yourself if you really need that extra pair of shoes, sweater, pants, etc. You can save yourself $50 if you don't buy it then and there. Wait another week and ask yourself again if you need the clothes item. Wait two more weeks and put that $50 towards your savings, credit card debt, school loan, etc. Your Character Is Based On Who You Are, Not What You HaveBefore you buy something, ask yourself these three simple questions. Is it kind? Is it true? Is it necessary? Stay with what you really need and be grateful for everything that makes you you, and everything you do have.
