At least in Germany IKEA is not that cheap. There are lots of other places where you can get things for less. & the quality is not that great, either. It's OK, but not more.

The good thing is that they have almost everything in one building. But then again, if you go to special shops the choice for one specific product is much wider than at IKEA.

My reviews are independent and I receive no payment for doing them other than my compensation from Suite101 which is based on well-written, informative content about personal budgeting and not on any product, service, store, etc. mentioned in the article.

I live in the United States, and IKEA is an option for saving money here because of its exceptionally low prices on items that are of decent quality.

If there are specialty shops in Germany that save you money, please list them so that others in your area can enjoy the savings as well.
